News You Should Know: Winchester Rifles to Be Discontinued

According to a story on the AP newswire, the traditional Winchester rifles carried by pioneers, movie stars and Wild West lawmen will be discontinued in March. The company, originally based in New Haven, CT, and currently owned by Belgium Corporation Herstal Group, has stated it has lost money for the last several years manufacturing the older model rifles and guns. By March, the company plans to only manufacture modern, high-end models, that are manufactured outside the United States.
